Vision, Mission, & Values

To connect every person to the university through partnerships and programs that enrich quality of life and well-being for individuals, communities, and nations.

The mission of Community Outreach at Arizona State University is to support access and success in higher education for underrepresented students and to increase learning opportunities for diverse communities. We achieve this mission through program development, program coordination, training, and research and evaluation.

Equity: To treat all students, communities, and stakeholders with fairness and respect. We achieve this by providing accessible educational opportunities.

Collaboration: To cultivate reliable and accountable community-building for common goals. We achieve this through partnerships with internal and external stakeholder groups.

Belonging: To engage diverse communities with the university so that all people feel welcome and safe. We achieve this through relevant programming that meets their needs.

Care: To support the holistic needs of people throughout their personal and educational experiences with ASU. We achieve this through relationship-building and mentoring, and connecting people to resources.

Creativity: To promote self-expression and imagination to foster identity and purpose. We achieve this by intentionally exploring novel approaches to programming for unique populations.

Excellence: To develop high-quality programming and services using data and evidence-informed practices. We achieve this by identifying community needs, researching outcomes, and disseminating best-practices.
